DRAGGING VEHICLES

Mark talks about one of his daily routines:

"I started needing vehicles for my town. So the first thing I bought was a scout car and I was like, 'Damn, the tires looked so brand new'. They had a little factory seam on the tires. It looked like they just rolled off the showroom. I didn't want that."

"So I started dragging stuff. Everyday I walk to the store to get my food and smokes. So everyday I drag a vehicle behind me while I'm walking. It wears down the tires and makes the vehicle look like a vehicle in wartime would actually look. Plus then my people can get out of town for a ride."

"The jeep has 180 miles on it. That's 1080 miles in 1/6th scale. So I'm getting closer to as many miles as the jeep would have run in actuality. I keep track of it in all my journals and stuff."

NAMING THE TOWN

Here's Mark's explanation of why his town is called Marwencol...

"Two of the first people I gave dolls to in my town were Colleen and Wendy. Colleen was a neighbor of mine when I first got out of the hospital after the attack. She was my first crush in my second life so I built a building for her doll figure which was called ‘Pocket Full of Posies’. And Wendy was a woman I used to work with at a bar. So I gave her a building in my town called Wendy Lee’s Kitchen which was where everybody could get something to eat."

"And of course my doll had ‘Hogancamp’s Bar and Catfight Club’ so I stood back and I said, wow, it’s a town. With my place, Colleen’s place, and Wendy’s place, but it doesn’t have a name, you know, and then I thought, there’s three of us that have buildings in the town, and we’re three co-owners of the town, so why not combine our names?"

"And I did.  It took me a week and a half of switching Colleen, and Wendy and Mark all around - Wencolmar and everything - until I came up with Marwencol. Mark, Wendy, Colleen.  And that’s the town’s name."
